I started out the day pretty tired and unmotivated, probably still running on a bizarre body clock after doing those night shoots last week. I've shot my CV off to a few job vacancies, but I'm not counting on anything just yet.
Then twenty minutes ago, I had an offer for a temp job for Friday! Nothing glamourous, but it's better than no work at all! Whoo hoo!
Word of advice to any new folks coming to the UK: don't snub the idea of temping. It's a great system that really acts as a buffer and extra motivation while you're on the lengthy search for your dream job. I'm pleased.
Bonus: I'm going to a roller disco tomorrow night. Hot damn.

Hi again! Your life sounds so exciting and fun. Are you planning to explore the rest of Europe anytime soon? I'm counting the days till I too can make the trek to London and it's just agony having to wait till the last week of January to leave in order to take advantage of the Youth Mobility Visa.
Yeah speak of the YMV, why didn't you wait around for that as well? Did you not want to wait that long only to find out that the USA might not be a part of the list of approved countries?
I only found out about the Youth Mobility Scheme after I'd gotten my BUNAC Blue Card. As far as I know, the US still hasn't agreed to participate in that visa program, but I've found out that if it eventually does, I could take part in it, even if I've already done BUNAC twice. Couldn't chance it; I had to come back! :)
And applejammy, I won't be able to visit mainland Europe, actually. I mentioned it in a couple of my first posts: after October 31st, I wouldn't be allowed to leave the UK and return with the same right to work (because of the change in visa schemes), so I'm pretty much staying put. I am hoping to travel to Scotland and Northern Ireland, though.
