The Next Production Gig

Greetings, all.

The temp job yesterday (Friday) was reception for the head office of a casino company--not too thrilling, but better than nothing at all. I talked to some nice couriers, wandered toward Hyde Park during lunch, and found it hilarious that the company allowed employees to go on Facebook, but only between 1 and 2 PM.

I've started posting to the "Work Wanted" classifieds on Gumtree, which is the UK's equivalent to Craigslist (most people here haven't even heard of Craigslist). I didn't think much would come of it, but I got an offer for a job last night: I'll be a PA/casting assistant for a commercial audition taking place near Covent Garden on Monday. It's only for four hours, but pays £60, and I'll certainly get to make some more contacts at this production company as a result. I really do enjoy film- and television-related jobs more than anything else; I can't just give in and work anywhere--not yet, anyway.

I think I'll have another wander downtown/in central London today and see what I can find. Maybe I should bring my CV in case I run into any more film sets...
