Hotchacha!

Remember when I was gushing about how well things were going this week?  Well, they've only gotten better, which makes me think maybe the Apocalypse is coming up next, to balance out these good times.  (When did I get so cynical?  Yowza!)

The news of the century: I got a call from a production company yesterday, asking if I wanted to work as a production assistant with them next week.

"Uhhh, errr, lemme think about that."  "YES!"

I don't have all of the details about the production, but the two people who've contacted me seem pretty on top of communication.  Initially the project was going to run next Monday through Friday--but then they phoned me today as well to see if I could start tomorrow (Saturday) instead.

"Uhhh, errr, lemme think about--"  "Er, okay."

I'm definitely doing it--getting there at 9:30 and working till they're done--though it means I've had to rearrange my trip to Sheffield to see Beth.  It's a bummer in that regard, and if there's any chance we'll be finished by 3 PM (and not working Sunday as well), I'll absolutely be on the train "up north" by 4:30.  Thankfully, Beth's been really understanding about--"This could make your career!"--but I still feel bad about ditching my bud's engagement party.

Then again, I've been at this job search for months now, so I'm also really pleased, of course, of course!  And yes, even though it's only a week long, it pays really well (if I understood them correctly) and will definitely give me a further boost toward networking and resume-building here.  Mmm, I love it!

So, recap: jobless for two weeks, working for two weeks.  I could go back to jobless by the 13th, but heeeeyyy, let's hope not!

Unrelated: Halloween costume ideas include Rose McGowan in Planet Terror, sans machine gun leg and instead with chroma key green fabric wrapped around my leg, or (as of fifteen minutes ago) going as the Andys from Hot Fuzz with Daniel.  Uber-feminine or dressed in drag?  Really tough call...
