General "Goss"

Hokay.  So.

What a swell birthday.  22 doesn't feel that much different from 21, but I guess I'm fully out of the student realm and now classified as a confused twenty-something.  In reality, I'm not all that confused about the life I want to lead, so I guess I come out ahead for now.

The temp job has gone well over the last three days (boring, but stable, which is exactly what I need for now), and they've asked me to stay here through the week, since their regular office manager is still sick.  Meanwhile, the search for a full-time job keeps on cranking, though I haven't seen as many suitable positions posted these days.  I will not be deterred, England!  (So, you just bite me!)

On a more personal note, you could say I've started "seeing" my housemate.  Of course, we see each other every day at home, and that's no stretch, so you know what I mean.  Now there are some warm, fuzzy feelings involved, like I've swallowed a bunny or something.  It's great to have gotten such a fast friend in him--we get along like a house on fire (what a fantastic phrase)--and hopefully this is a good step.

(He asked if I would blog about it: "I've heard your question, Daniel, and the answer is YESSSS.")

Some spiffy events coming up:
  • On Friday night we head to a screening of The Fall (my other favorite film of '08, next to Tropic Thunder), which includes a Q&A with the director, Tarsem Singh.  I can't tell you how stoked I am about it.  The film is a marvel--and because it was shot in twenty-three different countries over two years, I'll have a bazillion questions about how they handled the logistics of it all.  (Nerd?  Me?)
  • I'm off to Sheffield on Saturday to visit my friend Beth for her engagement party, which'll be heaps of fun.
  • Then on Sunday, once I return, Natalie gets her butt to London and stays at my house for nearly a week!  I've missed that girl like car-azy, and I'm not just saying that 'cause I know she reads my blog (maybe I am, a little)!
I'd say this week has been a solid improvement over the last two (since my stress level's gone down), though in general I was pretty content when I got here as well.  Life's pretty sweet.
