On the Move 24/7

Hi there,

It's been ages, I know, but only because I've been working the night shoots this week and keeping my friend Natalie company by day (she's visiting from Boston). I volunteered to cover one night shoot initially and then got put with the night crew for the entire week, so it's been tiring, but really cool!

On average we've started at 2 PM and worked till 3 AM, grabbing footage at clubs and concerts all over the place (I wouldn't recommend any of the clubs, but the IndigO2 concert venue was pretty sweet). In general I'd say it's been well organised, though in production it seems like if everything's going perfectly, you've done something wrong, haha. There were a few hiccups along the way, but I'd say it's been a pretty smooth shoot overall, and I'm very pleased.

We wrapped production last night, though I've been asked to return today as well to help wrap up the production office (which has been in an incredibly swanky, post-modern hotel near Soho, where Paris Hilton was also staying this week).

In the meantime, I interviewed for an independent video company that handles commercials and corporate videos, and although I got along with the creative director, they were looking for someone who eventually wants to direct, rather than someone who wants to production manage or produce (like myself). So we mutually decided it wasn't the right fit, and he said he'd contact me with any production gigs on their sets or if any other office positions come up.

There also may be another production gig available in November, this time with a Bollywood film! I'd love to work that one, and since this company who hired me for Making the Band knows I'm reliable, hopefully I'll be one of the first folks they call. Fingers crossed!

Back to the office now; I'll be in touch soon!
